Psalm 28 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 28:1{A Psalm of David.} Unto thee, Jehovah, do I call; my rock, be not silent unto me, lest, if thou keep silence toward me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Psa 28:2Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward the oracle of thy holiness.
Psa 28:3Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbours, and mischief is in their heart.
Psa 28:4Give them according to their doing, and according to the wickedness of their deeds; give them after the work of their hands, render to them their desert.
Psa 28:5For they regard not the deeds of Jehovah, nor the work of his hands: he will destroy them, and not build them up.
Psa 28:6Blessed be Jehovah, for he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
Psa 28:7Jehovah is my strength and my shield; my heart confided in him, and I was helped: therefore my heart exulteth, and with my song will I praise him.
Psa 28:8Jehovah is their strength; and he is the stronghold of salvation to his anointed one.
Psa 28:9Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance; and feed them, and lift them up for ever.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
