Psalm 23 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 23:1{A Psalm of David.} Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psa 23:2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters.
Psa 23:3He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Psa 23:4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Psa 23:5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psa 23:6Surely, goodness and loving-kindness shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of Jehovah for the length of the days.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
