Psalm 146 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 146:1Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.
Psa 146:2As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.
Psa 146:3Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
Psa 146:4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.
Psa 146:5Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,
Psa 146:6Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;
Psa 146:7Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;
Psa 146:8Jehovah openeth the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;
Psa 146:9Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.
Psa 146:10Jehovah will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halleluiah!

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
