Psalm 132 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 132:1{A Song of degrees.} Jehovah, remember for David all his affliction;
Psa 132:2How he swore unto Jehovah, vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
Psa 132:3I will not come into the tent of my house, I will not go up to the couch of my bed;
Psa 132:4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, slumber to mine eyelids,
Psa 132:5Until I find out a place for Jehovah, habitations for the Mighty One of Jacob. ...
Psa 132:6Behold, we heard of it at Ephratah, we found it in the fields of the wood.
Psa 132:7Let us go into his habitations, let us worship at his footstool.
Psa 132:8Arise, Jehovah, into thy rest, thou and the ark of thy strength.
Psa 132:9Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness, and let thy saints shout for joy.
Psa 132:10For thy servant David's sake, turn not away the face of thine anointed.
Psa 132:11Jehovah hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it: Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne;
Psa 132:12If thy children keep my covenant, and my testimonies which I will teach them, their children also for evermore shall sit upon thy throne.
Psa 132:13For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his dwelling:
Psa 132:14This is my rest for ever; here will I dwell, for I have desired it.
Psa 132:15I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her needy ones with bread;
Psa 132:16And I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
Psa 132:17There will I cause the horn of David to bud forth; I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.
Psa 132:18His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
