Psalm 113 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 113:1Hallelujah! Praise, ye servants of Jehovah, praise the name of Jehovah.
Psa 113:2Blessed be the name of Jehovah, from this time forth and for evermore!
Psa 113:3From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, let Jehovah's name be praised.
Psa 113:4Jehovah is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
Psa 113:5Who is like unto Jehovah our God, who hath placed his dwelling on high;
Psa 113:6Who humbleth himself to look on the heavens and on the earth?
Psa 113:7He raiseth up the poor out of the dust; from the dung-hill he lifteth up the needy,
Psa 113:8To set him among nobles, among the nobles of his people.
Psa 113:9He maketh the barren woman to keep house, as a joyful mother of sons. Hallelujah!

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
