Psalm 111 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 111:1Hallelujah! I will celebrate Jehovah with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the assembly.
Psa 111:2Great are the works of Jehovah; sought out of all that delight in them.
Psa 111:3His work is majesty and splendour, and his righteousness abideth for ever.
Psa 111:4He hath made his wonders to be remembered: Jehovah is gracious and merciful.
Psa 111:5He hath given meat unto them that fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant.
Psa 111:6He hath shewn his people the power of his works, to give them the heritage of the nations.
Psa 111:7The works of his hands are truth and judgment; all his precepts are faithful:
Psa 111:8Maintained for ever and ever, done in truth and uprightness.
Psa 111:9He sent deliverance unto his people; he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and terrible is his name.
Psa 111:10The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do his precepts: his praise abideth for ever.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
