Psalm 105 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Psa 105:1Give ye thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; make known his acts among the peoples.
Psa 105:2Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him; meditate upon all his wondrous works.
Psa 105:3Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.
Psa 105:4Seek Jehovah and his strength, seek his face continually;
Psa 105:5Remember his wondrous works which he hath done, his miracles and the judgments of his mouth:
Psa 105:6Ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
Psa 105:7He, Jehovah, is our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
Psa 105:8He is ever mindful of his covenant, -- the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, --
Psa 105:9Which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
Psa 105:10And he confirmed it unto Jacob for a statute, unto Israel for an everlasting covenant,
Psa 105:11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
Psa 105:12When they were a few men in number, of small account, and strangers in it.
Psa 105:13And they went from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
Psa 105:14He suffered no man to oppress them, and reproved kings for their sakes,
Psa 105:15Saying, Touch not mine anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.
Psa 105:16And he called for a famine upon the land; he broke the whole staff of bread.
Psa 105:17He sent a man before them: Joseph was sold for a bondman.
Psa 105:18They afflicted his feet with fetters; his soul came into irons;
Psa 105:19Until the time when what he said came about: the word of Jehovah tried him.
Psa 105:20The king sent and loosed him -- the ruler of peoples -- and let him go free.
Psa 105:21He made him lord of his house, and ruler over all his possessions:
Psa 105:22To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
Psa 105:23And Israel came into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
Psa 105:24And he made his people exceeding fruitful, and made them mightier than their oppressors.
Psa 105:25He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
Psa 105:26He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron whom he had chosen:
Psa 105:27They set his signs among them, and miracles in the land of Ham.
Psa 105:28He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
Psa 105:29He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die.
Psa 105:30Their land swarmed with frogs, -- in the chambers of their kings.
Psa 105:31He spoke, and there came dog-flies, and gnats in all their borders.
Psa 105:32He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land;
Psa 105:33And he smote their vines and their fig-trees, and broke the trees of their borders.
Psa 105:34He spoke, and the locust came, and the cankerworm, even without number;
Psa 105:35And they devoured every herb in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
Psa 105:36And he smote every firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their vigour.
Psa 105:37And he brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble among their tribes.
Psa 105:38Egypt rejoiced at their departure; for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
Psa 105:39He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
Psa 105:40They asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
Psa 105:41He opened the rock, and waters gushed forth; they ran in the dry places like a river.
Psa 105:42For he remembered his holy word, and Abraham his servant;
Psa 105:43And he brought forth his people with gladness, his chosen with rejoicing;
Psa 105:44And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the labour of the peoples:
Psa 105:45That they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Hallelujah!

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
