Malachi 4 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Mal 4:1

Mal 4:1For behold, the day cometh, burning as a furnace; and all the proud and all that work wickedness shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, so that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Mal 4:2

Mal 4:2And unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and leap like fatted calves.

Mal 4:3

Mal 4:3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I prepare, saith Jehovah of hosts.

Mal 4:4

Mal 4:4Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and ordinances.

Mal 4:5

Mal 4:5Behold, I send unto you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and terrible day of Jehovah.

Mal 4:6

Mal 4:6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
