Job 26 :: Darby Translation (DBY)

Job 26:1And Job answered and said,
Job 26:2How hast thou helped the powerless; how saved the arm that is without strength!
Job 26:3How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, and abundantly declared the thing as it is!
Job 26:4For whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

The Greatness of God

Job 26:5The shades tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof;
Job 26:6Sheol is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.
Job 26:7He stretcheth out the north over empty space, he hangeth the earth upon nothing;
Job 26:8He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not rent under them.
Job 26:9He covereth the face of his throne, he spreadeth his cloud upon it.
Job 26:10He hath traced a fixed circle over the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.
Job 26:11The pillars of the heavens tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.
Job 26:12He stirreth up the sea by his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.
Job 26:13By his Spirit the heavens are adorned; his hand hath formed the fleeing serpent.
Job 26:14Lo, these are the borders of his ways; but what a whisper of a word do we hear of him! And the thunder of his power, who can understand?

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
