PSALM 30
Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.
A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.
1 I will exalt H7311 You, LORD H3068, for You have lifted H1802 me up,
And have not let my enemies H340 rejoice H8055 over me.
I cried H7768 to You for H7768 help H7768, and You healed H7495 me.
3 LORD H3068, You have brought H5927 up H5927 my soul H5315 from [fn]Sheol H7585;
You have kept H2421 me alive H2421, [fn]that I would not go H3381 down H3381 to the pit H953.
4 Sing H2167 praise H2167 to the LORD H3068, you His godly H2623 ones H2623,
And praise H3034 the mention H2143 of His holiness H6944.
5 For His anger H639 is but for a moment H7281,
His favor H7522 is for a lifetime H2416;
Weeping H1065 may last H3885 for the night H6153,
But a shout H7440 of H7440 joy H7440 comes in the morning H1242.
6 Now as for me, I said H559 in my prosperity H7959,
“I will never H1077 H5769 be moved H4131.”
7 LORD H3068, by Your favor H7522 You have made my mountain H2022 to stand H5975 strong H5797;
You hid H5641 Your face H6440, I was H926 dismayed H926.
8 To You, LORD H3068, I called H7121,
And to the Lord H3068 I pleaded H2603 for H2603 compassion H2603:
9 “What H4100 gain H1215 is there in my blood H1818, if I go H3381 down H3381 to the pit H7845?
Will the dust H6083 praise H3034 You? Will it declare H5046 Your faithfulness H571?
10 “Hear H8085, LORD H3068, and be H2603 gracious H2603 to me;
LORD H3068, be my helper H5826.”
11 You have turned H2015 my mourning H4553 into dancing H4234 for me;
You have untied H6605 my sackcloth H8242 and encircled H247 me with joy H8057,
12 That my [fn]soul H3519 may sing H2167 praise H2167 to You and not be H1826 silent H1826.
LORD H3068 my God H430, I will give H3034 thanks H3034 to You forever H5769.
