PSALM 22

A Cry of Anguish and a Song of Praise.

1 My God ^H410, my God ^H410, why ^H4100 have You forsaken ^H5800 me?

Far ^H7350 from my [fn]help ^H3444 are the words ^H1697 of my [fn]groaning ^H7581.

2 My God ^H430, I cry ^H7121 out ^H7121 by day ^H3119, but You do not answer ^H6030;

And by night ^H3915, but [fn]I have no ^H3808 rest ^H1747.

3 Yet You are holy ^H6918,

You who [fn]are enthroned ^H3427 upon the praises ^H8416 of Israel ^H3478.

4 In You our fathers ^H1 trusted ^H982;

They trusted ^H982 and You rescued ^H6403 them.

5 To You they cried ^H2199 out ^H2199 and they fled ^H4422 to ^H4422 safety ^H4422;

In You they trusted ^H982 and were ^H954 not [fn]disappointed ^H954.

6 But I am a worm ^H8439 and not a person ^H376,

A disgrace ^H2781 of mankind ^H120 and despised ^H959 by the people ^H5971.

7 All ^H3605 who see ^H7200 me deride ^H3932 me;

They [fn]sneer ^H6362 H8193, they shake ^H5128 their heads ^H7218, saying,

8 “[fn]Turn ^H1556 [fn]him over ^H1556 to the LORD ^H3068; let Him save ^H6403 him;

Let Him rescue ^H5337 him, because ^H3588 He delights ^H2654 in him.”

9 Yet ^H3588 You are He who brought ^H1518 me forth ^H1518 from the womb ^H990;

You made me trust ^H982 when upon my mother’s ^H517 breasts ^H7699.

10 I was cast ^H7993 upon You from [fn]birth ^H7358;

You have been my God ^H410 from my mother’s ^H517 womb ^H990.

11 Do not be ^H7368 far ^H7368 from me, for [fn]trouble ^H6869 is near ^H7138;

For there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 one ^H369 to help ^H5826.

12 Many ^H7227 bulls ^H6499 have surrounded ^H5437 me;

Strong ^H47 bulls of Bashan ^H1316 have encircled ^H3803 me.

13 They open ^H6475 their mouths ^H6310 wide ^H6475 at me,

As a ravening ^H2963 and roaring ^H7580 lion ^H738.

14 I am poured ^H8210 out ^H8210 like water ^H4325,

And all ^H3605 my bones ^H6106 are out of joint ^H6504;

My heart ^H3820 is like wax ^H1749;

[fn]They pierced ^H3564 my hands ^H3027 and my feet ^H7272.

17 I can count ^H5608 all ^H3605 my bones ^H6106.

They look ^H5027, they stare ^H7200 at me;

18 They divide ^H2505 my garments ^H899 among them,

And they cast ^H5307 lots ^H1486 for my clothing ^H3830.

19 But You, LORD ^H3068, do not be ^H7368 far ^H7368 away ^H7368;

You who are my help ^H360, hurry ^H2363 to my assistance ^H5833.

20 Save ^H5337 my [fn]soul ^H5315 from the sword ^H2719,

My only ^H3173 life from the [fn]power ^H3027 of the dog ^H3611.

21 Save ^H3467 me from the lion’s ^H738 mouth ^H6310;

From the horns ^H7161 of the wild ^H7214 oxen ^H7214 You answer ^H6030 me.

22 I will proclaim ^H5608 Your name ^H8034 to my brothers ^H251;

In the midst ^H8432 of the assembly ^H6951 I will praise ^H1984 You.

23 You who fear ^H3372 the LORD ^H3068, praise ^H1984 Him;

All ^H3605 you [fn]descendants ^H2233 of Jacob ^H3290, glorify ^H3513 Him,

And stand ^H1481 in ^H1481 awe ^H1481 of Him, all ^H3605 you [fn]descendants ^H2233 of Israel ^H3478.

24 For He has not despised ^H959 nor ^H3808 scorned ^H8262 the suffering ^H6039 of the afflicted ^H6041;

Nor ^H3808 has He hidden ^H5641 His face ^H6440 from him;

But when he cried ^H7768 to Him for ^H7768 help ^H7768, He heard ^H8085.

25 From You comes my praise ^H8416 in the great ^H7227 assembly ^H6951;

I shall pay ^H7999 my vows ^H5088 before ^H5048 those who fear ^H3372 Him.

26 The [fn]afflicted ^H6035 will eat ^H398 and be ^H7646 satisfied ^H7646;

Those who seek ^H1875 Him will praise ^H1984 the LORD ^H3068.

May your heart ^H3824 live ^H2421 forever ^H5703!

27 All ^H3605 the ends ^H657 of the earth ^H776 will remember ^H2142 and turn ^H7725 to the LORD ^H3068,

And all ^H3605 the families ^H4940 of the nations ^H1471 will worship ^H2331 before ^H6440 [fn]You.

28 For the kingdom ^H4410 is the LORD’S ^H3068

And He rules ^H4910 over the nations ^H1471.

29 All ^H3605 the [fn]prosperous ^H1879 of the earth ^H776 will eat ^H398 and worship ^H2331,

All ^H3605 those who go ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the dust ^H6083 will kneel ^H3766 before ^H6440 Him,

Even he who [fn]cannot ^H3808 keep ^H2421 his soul ^H5315 alive ^H2421.

30 A [fn]posterity ^H2233 will serve ^H5647 Him;

It will be told ^H5608 of the Lord ^H136 to the coming generation ^H1755.

31 They will come ^H935 and will declare ^H5046 His righteousness ^H6666

To a people ^H5971 who will be born ^H3205, that He has performed ^H6213 it.
