Guilt Offering
1 [fn]Then the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872, saying H559,
2 “When H3588 a person H5315 sins H2398 and acts H4603 unfaithfully H4603 H4604 against the LORD H3068, and disavows H3584 the rightful claim of his neighbor H5997 regarding a deposit H6487 or H176 a security H8667 entrusted H3027 to him, or H176 regarding robbery H1498, or H176 he has extorted H6231 from his neighbor H5997, 3 or H176 has found H4672 what H9 was H9 lost H9 and lied H3584 about it and sworn H7650 falsely H8267, so that he sins H2398 regarding H5921 any H259 H3605 of the things that people H120 do H6213; 4 then it shall be, when H3588 he sins H2398 and becomes H816 guilty H816, that he shall restore H7725 what H834 he took H1497 by H1497 robbery H1497 or H176 acquired H6231 by extortion H6233, or H176 the deposit H6487 which H834 was [fn]entrusted H6485 to him, or H176 the lost H9 property H9 which H834 he found H4672, 5 or H176 anything H3605 about which H834 he swore H7650 falsely H8267; he shall make H7999 restitution H7999 for it [fn]in full H7218 and add H3254 to it a fifth H2549 more H3254. He shall give H5414 it to the one to whom H834 it belongs on the day H3117 he presents his guilt H819 offering H819. 6 Then he shall bring H935 to the priest H3548 his guilt H817 offering H817 to the LORD H3068, a ram H352 without H8549 defect H8549 from the flock H6629, according to your assessment H6187, as a guilt H817 offering H817, 7 and the priest H3548 shall make H3722 atonement H3722 for him before H6440 the LORD H3068, and he will be forgiven H5545 for any H259 one H259 of the things which H834 he may have done H6213 to incur H819 guilt H819.”
The Priest’s Part in the Offerings
8 [fn]Then the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872, saying H559,
9 “Command H6680 Aaron H175 and his sons H1121, saying H559, ‘This H2088 is the law H8451 for the burnt H5930 offering H5930: the burnt H5930 offering H5930 itself H1931 shall remain on the hearth H4169 on the altar H4196 all H3605 night H3915 until H5704 the morning H1242, and the fire H784 on the altar H4196 is to be kept burning H3344 on it. 10 The priest H3548 is to put H3847 on H3847 his linen H906 robe H4055, and he shall put H3847 on H3847 linen H906 undergarments H4370 next H5921 to his [fn]body H1320; and he shall take H7311 up H7311 the fatty H1880 ashes H1880 to which H834 the fire H784 [fn]reduces H398 the burnt H5930 offering H5930 on the altar H4196 and place H7760 them beside H681 the altar H4196. 11 Then he shall take H6584 off H6584 his garments H899 and put H3847 on H3847 other H312 garments H899, and carry H3318 the fatty H1880 ashes H1880 outside H413 H4480 H2351 the camp H4264 to a clean H2889 place H4725. 12 The fire H784 on the altar H4196 shall be kept burning H3344 on it. It shall not go H3518 out H3518, but the priest H3548 shall burn H1197 wood H6086 on it every H1242 morning H1242; and he shall lay H6186 out H6186 the burnt H5930 offering H5930 on it, and offer H6999 up H6999 in H6999 smoke H6999 the fat H2459 portions H2459 of the peace H8002 offerings H8002 on it. 13 Fire H784 shall be kept burning H3344 continually H8548 on the altar H4196; it is not to go H3518 out H3518.
14 ‘Now this H2088 is the law H8451 of the grain offering H4503: the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 shall present H7126 it before H6440 the LORD H3068 in front H6440 of the altar H4196. 15 Then one of them shall lift H7311 up H7311 from it a handful H7062 of the fine H5560 flour H5560 of the grain offering H4503, [fn]with its oil H8081 and all H3605 the incense H3828 that is on the grain offering H4503, and he shall offer H6999 it up H6999 in H6999 smoke H6999 on the altar H4196, a soothing H5207 aroma H7381, as its memorial H234 offering H234 to the LORD H3068. 16 And Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 are to eat H398 what is left H3498 of it. It shall be eaten H398 as unleavened H4682 cakes H4682 in a holy H6918 place H4725; they are to eat H398 it in the courtyard H2691 of the tent H168 of meeting H4150. 17 It shall not be baked H644 with leaven H2557. I have given H5414 it as their share H2506 from My offerings H801 by H801 fire H801; it is most H6944 holy H6944, like the sin H2403 offering H2403 and the guilt H817 offering H817. 18 Every H3605 male H2145 among the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 may eat H398 it; it is a permanent H5769 ordinance H2706 throughout your generations H1755, from the offerings H801 by H801 fire H801 to the LORD H3068. [fn]Whoever H3605 H834 touches H5060 them [fn]will become H6942 consecrated H6942.’”
19 Then the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872, saying H559, 20 “This H2088 is the offering H7133 which H834 Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 are to present H7126 to the LORD H3068 on the day H3117 when he is anointed H4886; the tenth H6224 of an [fn]ephah H374 of fine H5560 flour H5560 as a [fn]regular H8548 grain offering H4503, half H4276 of it in the morning H1242 and half H4276 of it in the evening H6153. 21 It shall be prepared H6213 with oil H8081 on a griddle H4227. When it is well stirred H7246, you shall bring H935 it. You shall present H7126 the grain offering H4503 in baked H8601 pieces H6595 as a soothing H5207 aroma H7381 to the LORD H3068. 22 The anointed H4899 priest H3548 who will be in H8478 his place H8478 [fn]among H4480 his sons H1121 shall [fn]offer H6213 it. By a permanent H5769 ordinance H2706 it shall be entirely H3632 offered H6999 up H6999 in H6999 smoke H6999 to the LORD H3068. 23 So every H3605 grain offering H4503 of the priest H3548 shall be burned H3632 entirely H3632. It shall not be eaten H398.”
24 Then the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 to Moses H4872, saying H559, 25 “Speak H1696 to Aaron H175 and to his sons H1121, saying H559, ‘This H2088 is the law H8451 of the sin H2403 offering H2403: in the place H4725 where H834 the burnt H5930 offering H5930 is slaughtered H7819, the sin H2403 offering H2403 shall be slaughtered H7819 before H6440 the LORD H3068; it is most H6944 holy H6944. 26 The priest H3548 who offers H2398 it for H2398 sin H2398 shall eat H398 it. It shall be eaten H398 in a holy H6918 place H4725, in the courtyard H2691 of the tent H168 of meeting H4150. 27 [fn]Whoever H3605 H834 touches H5060 its flesh H1320 [fn]will become H6942 consecrated H6942; and when H834 any H4480 of its blood H1818 spatters H5137 on a garment H899, you shall wash H3526 what H834 spattered H5137 on it in a holy H6918 place H4725. 28 Also the earthenware H2789 vessel H3627 in which H834 it was boiled H1310 shall be broken H7665; and if H518 it was boiled H1310 in a bronze H5178 vessel H3627, then it shall be scoured H4838 and rinsed H7857 in water H4325. 29 Every H3605 male H2145 among the priests H3548 may eat H398 it; it is most H6944 holy H6944. 30 But no H3605 H3808 sin H2403 offering H2403 of which H834 any H4480 of the blood H1818 is brought H935 into the tent H168 of meeting H4150 to make H3722 atonement H3722 in the Holy H6944 Place H6944 shall be eaten H398; it shall be burned H8313 with fire H784.
