Peter was following him at a distance right to the high priest's courtyard. He went in and was sitting with the servants to see the outcome.
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone[fn] driving out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he wasn't following us.”
Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has saved you.” Immediately he could see and began to follow Jesus on the road.
Instantly he could see, and he began to follow him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
They seized him, led him away, and brought him into the high priest's house. Meanwhile Peter was following at a distance.
A large crowd of people followed him, including women who were mourning and lamenting him.
A huge crowd was following him because they saw the signs that he was performing by healing the sick.
Simon Peter was following Jesus, as was another disciple. That disciple was an acquaintance of the high priest; so he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard.
So he went out and followed, and he did not know that what the angel did was really happening, but he thought he was seeing a vision.
