LXX Concordance for ὤμοσα

and said, “By myself I have sworn,” this is the LORD's declaration: “Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son,

“stay in this land as an alien, and I will be with you and bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.

The LORD spoke to Moses: “Go up from here, you and the people you brought up from the land of Egypt, to the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to your offspring.

“will ever see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have despised me will see it.

“‘Because they did not remain loyal to me, none of the men twenty years old or more who came up from Egypt will see the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ​— ​

“See, I have set the land before you. Enter and take possession of the land the LORD swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their future descendants.'

“‘None of these men in this evil generation will see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,

“Then the LORD said to me, ‘Get up. Continue your journey ahead of the people, so that they may enter and possess the land I swore to give their ancestors.'

“When I bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey, they will eat their fill and prosper.[fn] They will turn to other gods and worship them, despising me and breaking my covenant.

The LORD then said to him, “This is the land I promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ‘I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross into it.”

“Be strong and courageous, for you will distribute the land I swore to their ancestors to give them as an inheritance.

“Therefore, I have sworn to Eli's family: The iniquity of Eli's family will never be wiped out by either sacrifice or offering.”

“Now get up! Go out and encourage[fn] your soldiers, for I swear by the LORD that if you don't go out, not a man will remain with you tonight. This will be worse for you than all the trouble that has come to you from your youth until now! ”

“Keep an eye on Shimei son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim who is with you. He uttered malicious curses against me the day I went to Mahanaim. But he came down to meet me at the Jordan River, and I swore to him by the LORD, ‘I will never kill you with the sword.'

The LORD said,

“I have made a covenant with my chosen one;

I have sworn an oath to David my servant:

“Once and for all

I have sworn an oath by my holiness;

I will not lie to David.

So I swore in my anger,

“They will not enter my rest.”

“For this is like the days[fn] of Noah to me:

when I swore that the water of Noah

would never flood the earth again,

so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you

or rebuke you.

in order to establish the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is today.' ”

I answered, “Amen, LORD.”

“But if you do not obey these words, then I swear by myself ​— ​this is the LORD's declaration ​— ​that this house will become a ruin.' ”

“Therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you Judeans who live in the land of Egypt: ‘I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name will never again be invoked by anyone of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “As the Lord GOD lives.”

“For by myself I have sworn” ​— ​this is the LORD's declaration ​— ​“Bozrah[fn] will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and an example for cursing, and all its surrounding cities will become ruins forever.”
