LXX Concordance for ἀκούσῃ

Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”[fn]

The LORD said to Moses, “I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear when I speak with you and will always believe you.” Moses reported the people's words to the LORD,

“When someone sins in any of these ways:

If he has seen, heard, or known about something he has witnessed, and did not respond to a public call to testify, he will bear his iniquity.

“and her father hears about her vow or the obligation she put herself under, and he says nothing to her, all her vows and every obligation she put herself under are binding.

“and her husband hears about it and says nothing to her when he finds out, her vows are binding, and the obligations she put herself under are binding.

“and her husband hears about it, says nothing to her, and does not prohibit her, all her vows are binding, and every obligation she put herself under is binding.

“I will hold accountable whoever does not listen to my words that he speaks in my name.

“When someone hears the words of this oath, he may consider himself exempt,[fn] thinking, ‘I will have peace even though I follow my own stubborn heart.' This will lead to the destruction of the well-watered land as well as the dry land.

“Anyone who rebels against your order and does not obey your words in all that you command him, will be put to death. Above all, be strong and courageous! ”

“He's probably already hiding in one of the caves[fn] or some other place. If some of our troops fall[fn] first, someone is sure to hear and say, ‘There's been a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.'

The one who lives righteously

and speaks rightly,

who refuses profit from extortion,

whose hand never takes a bribe,

who stops his ears from listening to murderous plots

and shuts his eyes against evil schemes —

“Then, if anyone hears the sound of the ram's horn but ignores the warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his death will be his own fault.[fn]

“You as king have issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music must fall down and worship the gold statue.

“The LORD will bring a nation from far away, from the ends of the earth, to swoop down on you like an eagle, a nation whose language you won't understand,

“Listen to what they say, and then you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the troops[fn] who were in the camp.

I am about to bring a nation

from far away against you,

house of Israel.

This is the LORD's declaration.

It is an established nation,

an ancient nation,

a nation whose language you do not know

and whose speech you do not understand.

“Go down at once to the potter's house; there I will reveal my words to you.”

“not to the many peoples of unintelligible speech or a difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. No doubt, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the house of Israel. When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.

“As for you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.

Hear the petitions of your servant

and your people Israel,

which they pray toward this place.

May you hear in your dwelling place in heaven.

May you hear and forgive.

may you hear their prayer and petition in heaven

and uphold their cause.

may you hear their prayer and petitions in heaven,

your dwelling place,

and uphold their cause.[fn]

May you forgive your people

who sinned against you.

“If disaster comes on us ​— ​sword or judgment, pestilence or famine ​— ​we will stand before this temple and before you, for your name is in this temple. We will cry out to you because of our distress, and you will hear and deliver.”
