Once a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, what are the results in a persons life?
One of the results of allowing the continual filling of the Holy Spirit is spiritual maturity. This has visible results known as the fruit of the Spirit.

Fruit Of The Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23).

These qualities begin to show themselves in a persons life who is filled with the Spirit. The produce a Christlike character in the individual. These attributes include:

Love

Love consists of showing tenderness and kindness to others. Love, however, can also be stern. Jesus drove the moneychangers out from the temple because they were corrupting Gods law. He did this as an act of love.

Joy

Joy can be experienced in tough times as well as good times.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials (1 Peter 1:6).

Peace

The Bible says the peace that God provides passes human understanding.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7).

Longsuffering

Longsuffering is patience. The more Christlike we become the more we will be patient with others. The Bible says God is patient with us:

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

Kindness

Kindness and goodness speak of helpful deeds done toward others. We are instructed to show kindness to all:

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).

Faithfulness

Faithfulness means dependability. The Bible makes it clear that God is dependable.

Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22,23).

Results

When a person is filled with the Spirit it will lead him into an attitude of worship and thanksgiving toward God.

Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19,20).

Service

The filling of the Holy Spirit will also lead the believer into service.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).

When the fruit of the Spirit has become evident in the believers life, the results are worship, thanksgiving and service.
