THE BIG PICTURE

Part 1
The Past Preparatory Vision of the Prophet
(Rev 1:1-20)

Part 2
The Present Pictorial Condition of the People
(Rev 2:1-3:22)

Part 3
The Future Panoramic Prediction of the Prophet
(Rev 4:1-22:5)

Special thanks to Dr. Timothy L. Dane, whose notes and discussions have helped me formulate this outline, and to Dr. George J. Zemek, a friend, mentor and guardian of the Word, who continues to pass the exegetical torch.

In my collection of works on the book of Revelation, one commentary stands out as the most exhaustive, helpful and scholarly of them all. It is the two-volume commentary by Dr. Robert L. Thomas: Revelation 1-7 and Revelation 8-22, An Exegetical Commentary (Chicago: Moody Press, 1992). Thank you Dr. Thomas for your clear, concise, and confirming comments.

1 The "Revelation" is "from" Jesus Christ (Rev 1:1). "About" is included in this title to underscore the uncovered magnitude and splendor of our Lord Jesus Christ within His Revelation.
