Luke 12:13-21

Theme: Jesus issues a warning against covetousness

Point: Declare war on greed in your life before it's too late. (Luk 12:15)

Outline: In the parable of the rich fool, Jesus issues two stern warnings against covetousness.

  1. Jesus warns us about the focus of covetousness (Luk 12:16-19).
    1. Selfishness (vv. 16-19).
    2. Materialism (v. 18).
    3. Pleasure (v. 19).
  2. Jesus warns us about the folly of covetousness (Luk 12:20-21).
    1. It is foolish to ignore the limitations of your time on earth (v. 20).
    2. It is foolish to ignore the limitations of your treasures on earth (vv. 20-21).
