1.0 INTRODUCTION THE CHURCH IN ROME
2.1 The history of Rome
2.2 The beginning of the Roman church
3.1 ORIGIN:
3.2 DID PETER FOUND THE CHURCH AT ROME?
4.1 He was still in Jerusalem at the time of the church Council. (c. 50 AD)
4.2 BUT Claudius banished Jews from Rome in AD 49 because there had been rioting at the instigation of one called Chrestus.
4.3 No reference in this Epistle to Peter
4.4 Acts 18:2-3 implies that Priscilla and Aquilla, who came from Rome, were already Christians when they arrived at Corinth and became companions of Paul.
If so, the church existed before AD 49, since Priscilla and Aquila were banished under the edict of Claudius.
But this date is before Peter moved to Jerusalem.
They were in Rome, but not of Rome and, like all Christians of every century, they were in Christ.

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
