"EAR IMPORTANT IN PRAYER"
1. A child hears a word before he speaks it.
2. Men mightest in prayer have known God well.
3. Three Old Testament men mentioned as mighty in prayer. Jer. 15:1.
a. Though Moses and Samuel stood before me my heart could not be toward these people.
b. When James wants illustrations he speaks of Elijah.
1. Moses.
a. Training in quietness in Toyr's desert.
b. Wearing noise of Egypt out of ear's. So he could hear fire tones of God's voice. Gentleman asked by artist to look at recent painting.
2. Samuel.
a. Ear trained as a child.
3. Elijah praying for rain.
a. Beginning of 18th Chapter "The word of the Lord came unto Elijah. I will send rain."
Foundation of persistent prayer.
(True order tremendous results)
1. Listened.

3. Watched expectantly.

A. Time.
1. 1/2 an hour when mind fresh.
B. Bible alone.
1. If you desire to consult other book do it after.
2. Let God speak to you from His word first.
C. Read prayerfully.
1. Keen scholars, Saints of God.
D. Thoughtfully.

1. Last are magazines, newspapers.
2. Meditate.
3. Ruminate Rich milked cream.
Remarkable how much chewing the Bible takes.
E. Read obediently.
