I. REFUSED TO BE CALLED SON OF PHARAOH'S DAUGHTER.
A. As such heir to the throne.
1. The land of Egypt with its riches.
2. Luxury, ease, wealth, power.
a. This to some is ideal.
B. Moses wise man indeed.
1. No doubt great temptation.
2. He looked beyond the natural into the spiritual.
a. Peace and happiness are spiritual qualities not acquired by natural means.
II. CHOOSE TO SUFFER AFFLICTION WITH GOD'S PEOPLE.
A. Christian life not easy.
1. People will hate you.
2. People will ridicule you.
3. If given a chance, will say things that hurt.
B. Christ's call and commission not to weaklings.
1. All early disciples and apostles martyred, except John.
C. Esteeming reproach of Christ greater than riches.
1. James says to count it all joy.
3. Peter when beaten.
III. PLEASURES OF SIN FOR A SEASON.
A. On one side reproach of Christ with eternal life its goal.
B. On other side temporary pleasures of sin with eternal death its destiny.
C. Moses looked beyond present to the eternal reward.
