"KNOWING HIM."
Intro: Knowing God the most important thing in this world for you.
I. WHAT IT MEANS TO KNOW HIM.
A. Gnosko -- knowing by experience.
1. Intuitive knowledge difficult to prove.
2. Experimental knowledge can be proved by the experience itself.
B. Obedience to His commandments.
1. Some profess to know Him yet lack proof.
2. Some even profess superior knowledge.
3. Many lie as to their knowledge and others are deceived.
C. Some say I know Him; look at the power in my life - peace.
II. WHAT IS HIS COMMANDMENT REFERRED TO HERE?
A. John 15, "This is My commandment that ye love one another as I have loved you."
1. The word here is "agape."
a. This is a love beyond our scope.
b. We are given here an impossible command.
1. Man in synagog.
2. I also have two choices.
a. Protest my inability.
b. In faith obey.
2. The depth of my knowledge of God is demonstrated by the depth of my love for His children.
III. THE RESULT OF KEEPING HIS WORD.
A. God's love perfected in Him.
1. God loves the world.
2. God wants to demonstrate that love.
a. He uses human channels for that purpose.
