Kay Smith is the wife of Pastor Chuck Smith, the founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Chuck and Kay were married for 66 years, until Pastor Chuck went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2013.

She taught Bible studies to women at Calvary Chapel for over three decades, starting the Joyful Life Bible study for women, which her daughter Cheryl Brodersen now continues to teach. Kay’s influence has reached far beyond Calvary, as she faithfully ministered at women’s retreats, pastors’ wives conferences, and on radio programs. She is the author of the following books: Pleasing God, Reflecting God, The Privilege, as well as study books on Colossians and Philippians. They are available at The Word for Today website.

Kay’s focus in ministry has always been pointing others to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are certain you will be encouraged as you listen and learn from her passionate teaching.

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture.
