Cool:
kool (ruach, "wind"; katapsucho, "to cool down"): "Cool of the day" (Ge 3:8, margin "wind"), when the evening breeze has tempered the heat of the day, enabling Orientals to walk abroad. "Cool my tongue" (Lu 16:24), a phrase reflecting the Jewish notion that Abraham had power to rescue his descendants from the fires of Hades.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
